About Capel Adye
Born in Canada, in Sault Ste Marie Ontario, lived in the Bahaas for years and finally arrived in the light and landscape of West Texas and New Mexico.
Fascination with the drama of light and the rhythm of life, weave magic in pastel that the pure pigment of the pastel medium brings to the lasting brilliance of work in floral, landscape, still life and figures. Studies with many artists, among them Ben Konis, Kathleen Cook, Bob Rohm, Doug Dawson and Ann Templeton have honed skills and opened vistas which make pastel painting a creative joy. The artist has works in collections in the U.S. and Canada. A love of animals has translated into expressive pet portraits of dogs, cats and birds. A sister's Dutch warmblood jumper has been the subject of contemporary renderings of the horse.
